About the Amplify Baltimore

Amplify Baltimore is a series of community conversations that will explore some of the most challenging issues we face as a city.  These thoughtfully produced public conversations will involve decision makers, thought-leaders, trailblazers, people directly affected by these issues and everyday citizens, connecting them with information and entities that will generate proactive, sustainable results.  Each conversation will highlight how a specific issue affects our city and provide a clear path to a number of reasonable solutions that are accessible to a diverse array of citizens.  These solutions will lead to direct action that will Amplify Baltimore.

The events will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, Saturday, March 12, 2011, Saturday, June 4, 2011 and Saturday, September 10, 2011.  Each date will consist of three, two-hour conversations.  The each conversation will explore how an issue has affected Baltimore historically and presently and offer ideas on how to chart a better future.  This will be followed by a question and answer period with the audience and resource/information exchange with entities and individuals who are generating proactive and sustainable results.

The event will be held at the Brown Center of the Maryland Institute College of Art and host 500 people from all walks of life from across the city.  Each quarter will serve as a great opportunity for you to share your brand with a highly engaged and well-connected audience.

About Civic Frame

Civic Frame is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that uses art (primarily documentary and independent film) and intellectual work to encourage civic engagement, media literacy, and critical thinking about pressing social issues.
We believe that art in the form of independent films, audio and video documentaries, socially relevant feature films, music, dance, visual art, literature and scholarly work, as important witnesses to society, are great tools for framing social issues that are often difficult to define and discuss.

Founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 2002, we are anchored in cities nationwide through our relationships with local public radio and television stations, colleges and universities, public libraries and museums, and other community contacts.
