Greetings!

In recognition of Civic Frame’s 8th anniversary and upcoming programs, as well as in honor of April Yvonne Garrett turning 40 on September 11th, we are asking you to give $40 to the Civic Frame $40 for 40th Campaign.

Under the creative and persistent leadership of our founder and president we have continued to grow and expand in an attempt to promote critical thought and analysis of a variety of social issues. Yet, as with any nonprofit organization, our success depends on the consistent support and participation of our friends and patrons like you.

As you know, Civic Frame programs have addressed a number of pressing social issues including health care reform, immigration, the working poor, and offender reentry among others. Civic Frame uses film and accessible intellectual
work to stimulate conversation, community, personal reflection, and personal accountability among artists, scholars, decision makers, activists, and the public.

We were going to offer you 40 reasons to give; instead here are 4:

1. You like documentary and independent films, good scholarship, and enjoy thinking critically in public


2. You think globally but act locally.


3. You believe Civic Frame plays a unique and important role by providing an exciting, public platform for the discussion of significant social issues.


4. You know April, how hard she works for Civic Frame (and in the community in general), and/or you think she's just GREAT!

We invite you to honor Civic Frame and April's tenacious commitment and help our work continue by making a contribution of $40 (or more) and encouraging your friends to do so as well.

We have an impressive program agenda for 2010-2011 and plan to expand our programs to cities throughout the United States. In order to do so, we need your help in obtaining the necessary funds to provide our trademark quality programs.
